Answer: With offices in Seattle, WA and Newport Beach, CA, Alpine Pacific Capital (APC) is a private equity firm focused on investments in lower-middle market operating businesses. APC identifies attractive opportunities and works with investors to capitalize its investments as an independent sponsor. This structure is differentiated from traditional private equity firms in that APC does not invest out of a blind pool fund with a finite life and typical five to seven-year hold period for underlying investments. Rather, APC secures capital commitments for its portfolio companies on a deal-by-deal basis. Also unlike with blind pool funds, APC is not required to deploy capital at any particular pace. This structure affords APC a high degree of flexibility in terms of investment focus (i.e. industry, size and stage). It also aligns interests and is beneficial to APCs investors, portfolio companies and management team partners, as APC is not obligated to divest of its investments after a set amount of time. APC is therefore prepared to hold its investments indefinitely, or for whatever timeframe is consistent with the objectives of its investors and management team partners.
