Our pumps, deck plates, ports, windows, equipment holders, clips, and other items are available through local marine dealers via our distributors nationwide. Founded in 1955, Beckson produced the worlds first all-plastic bilge pump, the Thirsty-Mate Pump. Today we have a product line of over 900 items to serve your boating needs, earning our global reputation as a manufacturer of best-value, superior quality marine products for boaters and boat builders. As an innovative company over the years, Beckson Marine pioneered the use of many new materialsrigid PVC, Lexan, polypropylene, and othersnow common in the marine world, and has been awarded over two dozen patents. Among other products Beckson introduced were the first pry-out deck plate; a watertight, screw-out self-centering deck plate; and a patented line of hatches and opening ports. In 2016, we're justifiably proud that our 4", 6", and 8" screw-out and pry-out deck plates, available smooth and non-skid, solid color or clear, are the first certified by independent lab testing to meet or exceed ABYC H-3 3.5.2 and H-4 for watertightness, NEMA 250 6P for submergence, and ISO 12216 and 11812 strength and watertightness requirements. In 2007, Bob Beckerer, Beckson Marine CEO, was awarded the 2007 Jeffrey Butland Family-Owned Business of the Year Award by the U.S. Small Business Administration and recognized for significant personal contributions to local education and mentoring within the company and community. Continually testing, refining, and adapting our products, our goal is to promote enjoyment, safety, and comfort on the water by making and supplying marine equipment and accessories backed by exceptional customer service.
