Answer: We are a 501C3 Non-Profit organization with a mission to support, encourage and celebrate individual differences and abilities, one child, one family, at a time. We began Bradys Bridge in 2012 with simply a desire to provide support and resources to families of kids with special needs. The birth of our son, Brady, in 2011, opened our eyes to a new world of diagnoses, therapies, medical claims and the list goes on. We found just knowing where to turn for help was overwhelming. When our son entered Kindergarten in 2016, we were introduced to a new challenge- After school care programs that would be able to accommodate Brady. These programs, on average, staff 1 adult to 18 kids. Because Brady had a feeding tube and several other diagnoses, including a seizure disorder, they could not provide the individualized care that he required. With 18 kids in their care, a seizure could go unnoticed, if an adult did not keep an eye on him. We realized a specific need for this type of program. So we began a goal, to raise money to fund our own after school care program. Our current goal is $50,000 by the end of June 2018 so that we can begin offering this care in August of 2018. There is a reason the adult to child ratios were so high with other programs, they had to be able to pay their people and their operational costs. The monthly tuition is not enough to fund a lower ratio program. We need YOUR help to provide this specialized care to our kids.
