The back nine turns through a forest of pines and hardwoods, with three holes reconfigured to include a view of a 40-foot waterfall cascading into Lynns Creek. The 6,728-yard course was designed by golf course architect, Sammy Dean. The greens are bentgrass and professionally kept, and lush Bermuda fairways make short work of shots from the short grass. Cherokee Ridge served as host to the Nike (now Korn Ferry) Tours Alabama Classic from 1994 to 1997. It is considered by most professional golf consultants to be one of North Alabamas premier golf courses.
