Answer: CURRENTS NEW MEDIA champions new media arts and supports artists at all career stages in creating innovative work. Our annual festival, virtual programming, and year-round exhibition space CURRENTS 826 give the public continuous access to expansive art experiences. Drawing from a global constellation of artists, CURRENTS gives platform to the largest display of new media works in the Southwest. The next festival is scheduled for June 17 - 26, 2022 CURRENTS New Media offers our local community of Santa Fe, NM, the opportunity to engage with large scale new media works at low to no cost. CURRENTS is committed to educational outreach programming, and seeks local interns and volunteers for our annual festival. CURRENTS invites the community at large to experience the latest in the video arts in an open and accessible environment and to provide docent tours to expand the general publics understanding of the medium. We are committed to a non-discriminatory and inclusive approach to community art experiences. To this end Parallel Studios designs group installations that offer the public an intriguing invitation to new media. Though our exhibit designs are first and foremost grounded in service to beauty and excellence we also create and design with exploration, playfulness and accessibility in mind. Our exhibits present a diversity of staging formats and aesthetic explorations installation, site specific, projected and interactive video all unified by the artists overarching commitment to an unbridled approach to what defines the world of new media.
