Answer: Nestled in the heart of the White Mountains of Northern New Hampshire Labonville Inc. was founded in 1953 by Dolores & Emilien Labonville. They crossed the Canadian border in the late 40's, during The Great Depression with little money and even less language skills, a bucksaw and set about building a new life. As time progressed they became leading loggers in the north country, employing 114 men and 55 work horses, a very large operation indeed for those times. The company progressed along with the forest industry from the horse pulling days to today's highly mechanized operations. We are very proud of the fact that we always kept all of our manufacturing operations here in America, when most companies were busy moving their operations overseas in quest of larger profits. Finally, all of our products are field tested under the severest weather conditions in the world! On April 12, 1934 on Mt. Washington the highest peak in the northeast (located just seven miles down the road) the highest wind speed ever recorded was 231 mph! If our products hold up under these severe conditions, believe us when we say they will hold up anywhere! Coming from a humble background of poor immigrants from Canada during the Great Depression to having some of our products patented in Washington DC, and displayed at The National Museum of American History at The Smithsonian Institute; A Classic American Success Story Indeed! To all of our customers, a BIG THANK YOU for your help and support through the years for helping us get to where we are today...
