Answer: MedikEquips mission is to improve patient safety, reduce risks of injury for staff due to improper patient handling, and provide exponential cost savings to health systems who use our patented medical device, The PowerSlider. Currently available devices on the market still require caregivers to use their back, shoulder, and arms for patient lateral transfers. The PowerSlider is an effective and user-friendly device for a variety of clinical settings and health systems. The PowerSlider is powered by motor-driven powered rollers, which generates enough pulling power to transfer a patient weighing up to 500 pounds from a stretcher to a bed or vice versa. With the touch of a button, the Slider Sheet can be seamlessly deployed and is easily controlled by a single user. Once activated, the top roller begins to retract into the device pulling the top part of the sheet with the patient on it from one bed to another. After the patients has been transferred from one bed to another, the bottom roller retracts the bottom of the Slider Sheet back to the device. Our device can be easily integrated into existing health systems procurement systems because the Slider Sheets used by the PowerSlider already exist in the market and have been scientifically proven to reduce friction between the patient and the bed.
