Answer: The Museum of Public Relations is a 501(c)(3) educational institution chartered by the New York State Board of Regents to serve the world's growing community of communications students, educators, researchers and practitioners. Founded in 1997, the museum is considered the fields primary repository for documents covering the evolution of the field over the last century. Its archives include more than 600 significant books (many first editions and signed); dozens of artifacts; correspondence; photographs of historically significant people and events; examples of old media technologies; and a digital archive of video taped oral histories. It is considered the worlds largest collection of materials documenting PR history. The museum resides at Baruch Colleges Newman Library Archives and Special Collections, where it is open to the public by appointment for tours, guest lectures and research. The museum also has a strong educational presence online, featuring both a popular website and a Facebook page that has more than 5200 followers from 55 countries.
