Answer: Children are often the first impacted by parental or caregiver substance use, drug activity, or overdose; yet they are often the last to be identified and helped. They are the silent victims of the drug epidemic. National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children's mission is to help these children by early identification, intervention, and support by all professionals. National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children (National DEC) is a national non-profit that is a training, technical assistance, and resource center for professionals who have the opportunity to impact drug endangered children. We work with states, tribes, communities, and professionals to address the issues around substance use and addiction that impact children and families. We provide training, technical assistance, resources, publications, promising practices, community development, and more! National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children defines drug endangered children as children who are at risk of suffering physical or emotional harm as a result of legal and/or illegal drug use, possession, manufacturing, cultivation, or distribution. They may also be children whose caretakers substance misuse interferes with the caretakers ability to parent and provide a safe and nurturing environment. Join us in helping children and families!
