Answer: New Mexico Clay pottery equipment, ceramic supplies and precious metal clay. About New Mexico Clay Inc. New Mexico Clay is descended from Ann-Howe and Van-Howe ceramics originally from Denver Co. In 1984 they sold the business to Bob and Sharel King and some partners as an investment. Bob King had been coach of Lobos Basketball and was instrumental in building the Pit. Bob changed the name to Ceramic King and the emphasis of the business towards hobby ceramics. The present owner Brant Palley, who was born in Albuquerque, came to work for the Kings in 1985. With a BFA in art from UC Irvine, and a Masters of Fine Arts from Otis Art Institute and Parsons school of design, and five years intensive retail training (in Atlantic City NJ) the Kings were eager to turn the guidance of the business over to Brant, who then bought out the Kings in 1987. As a Potter he enjoys the clay side of the business the best.
