Answer: The Rotary Club of Ann Arbor is the preeminent service club for professional men and women in Ann Arbor. Service to others and our community has been our mission since the club was founded in 1916. The Rotary Club of Ann Arbor also supports the global effort to eradicate polio worldwide through Rotary Internationals End Polio Now program. Our membership now stands at more than 300 members. We are the largest Rotary club in the state of Michigan, and one of the largest of 34,500 Rotary clubs worldwide. The object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster the development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service; high ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying by each Rotarians occupation as an opportunity to serve society; the application of the ideal of service in every Rotarians personal, business, and community life; the advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world of fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service. Luncheon meetings are held every Wednesday at Webers Restaurant & Boutique Hotel, Atrium Ballroom, 3050 Jackson Ave., Ann Arbor, MI. There are no meetings the week of Art Fair and the weeks of Christmas and New Years. Buffet luncheon begins at 11:45 am; the business portion of the meeting starts at 12:25 pm. and includes an inspirational thought, introduction of guests and visiting Rotarians, songs, and reports from the President and committees on projects and programs. Weekly guest speakers present a program that ends at 1:30 pm.
