Answer: Founded in 2009, NC State Universitys High-Powered Rocketry Club, nicknamed Tacho Lycos (Speedy Wolf), has participated in NASAs Student Launch (SL) for the last ten years. Tacho Lycos has always been a standout competitor from winning Rookie of the Year for the 2009-10 competition to being the inaugural first place winner of the Centennial Challenge Mars Ascent Vehicle Prize in 2015. The club strives to advance in all areas pertinent to rocketry, including aerospace, mechanical, and electrical engineering as well as material and computer sciences. Tacho Lycos works year-round not only to expand our own knowledge and experience, but also to reach out to the community and inspire the next generation of engineers and scientists with presentations and demonstrations.
