Answer: The Brick Pit (est.1975) is Australia's oldest brick recycler, supplying quality, recycled bricks to the building and construction industry throughout Australia. Our response to sustainable development is the reuse of building and demolition material. Bricks from demolition sites are upcycled using world-first mechanical, automatic, brick cleaning technology developed at The Brick Pit, (international patent pending). After processing, the bricks are returned to the marketplace for reuse in all kinds of commercial and residential construction and landscaping projects. Our proprietory automatic brick cleaning system provides architects, owners, builders and landscapers with a consistent, quality standard that they can confidently specify, whilst also preserving Australia's national heritage. It's a great story! We know that bricks can easily last for centuries. The ability to reuse brick is an opportunity to make a major environmental contribution to reduced CO2 emissions and reduction of waste. It is estimated that every reused brick saves 0.5 kg of CO2 emissions compared to building with new brick.
