Answer: The Courage Center (TCC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit headquartered in Lexington, South Carolina. TCC is the first Recovery Community Organization in the Midlands of South Carolina that focuses in helping individuals and families on the road to recovery from substance abuse disorder. TCC provides one-on-one recovery coaching and peer support services at no cost to participants. The Center offers weekly family support meetings as well as weekly support meetings for individuals. Addiction is a chronic brain disease, not a moral weakness, but shame can reduce the willingness of individuals to seek help. TCC provides support for efforts that reduce the stigma associated with substance misuse and addiction with our #CourageOverStigma campaign.
