Answer: Following his service in the Marines, Woody moved to Colorado in 1973 and found his niche on the motorcycle race track. An avid racer and fierce competitor, Woody haunted the race tracks and founded the Motorcycle Road Racing Association to create a safer environment for racers. While working for a dealership and servicing broken moto wheels firsthand, Woody encountered the weaknesses of stock laced wheels and parts. Motivation to craft a better alternative led him to engineer a new, stronger, lace pattern that would combat OEM shortcomings. Woodys Wheel Works launched in 73 with a goal that still stands today: To Produce Dynamic Motion Under Solid Fundamentals. Knowledge gathered from Woody's racing endeavors over the years has been applied to every aspect of Woody's Wheel Works and to fellow riders in the form of continuing innovation and creativity. After witnessing the sorry state of stock hubs, Woody crafted the Superlite Hub. His connection to the track and to fellow riders has helped fuel the search for better ways to accomplish the goal: Stronger, Safer, Better. Superlite Hubs for the R1200, F800, HP2 & KTMs are not only stronger, but lighter and better looking. Superlites paired with Superlacing is what turned Woody's Wheel Works into a household name for adventure moto wheels. What began as a one man wheel shop has grown into a global leader in adventure wheel solutions. Woodys Wheel Works is world-renowned for high quality motorcycle products and dependable service. We understand what makes wheels work, and we are committed to providing our customers with the ultimate in wheel solutions along with superior customer service and satisfaction. We look forward to continue striving for excellence and innovation in the world of adventure riding!
