CIENCE Appoints Michael Gear as New CEO
CIENCE has announced successful SaaS executive Michael Gear as the new CEO of the company. As an experienced business leader, Gear will assume responsibilities to lead the next phase of growth for the organization.
The move marks an inflection point for the company as it aggressively expands its unique software (CIENCE GO Platform) and services by offering the first-ever operating system as a service (OSaaS) delivery model combining technology, people, and methodologies that have been campaign battle-tested for five years.

The newly appointed CEO Michael Gear has over twenty years of executive management positions at several leading technology companies, bringing a robust background in scaling technology companies at times of high growth.
Most recently Gear was SVP and GM of Sales at Zuora, a company that helped birth the subscription economy over the last decade. He also served as VP of Strategic Accounts at Adobe.
Previous to Adobe, Gear was SVP Global Sales at Qstream, GutCheck, GoodData, and had his first executive role at Webtrends back in 2005.
Building the Pipeline
Over the previous seven years, CIENCE has been recognized four times on the Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Companies in America list, including 2022’s no. 971 (for a 668% three-year growth rate), as well as appearing on the fastest growth lists of the Financial Times and Adweek.

Michale Gear succeeds August Keating, who will become the company’s president and COO to focus on strategic development of software and people.
An accomplished leader of large-scale strategy and operational execution, Keating formerly oversaw strategy and transformation for more than 10,000 software engineers as Head of Global Engineering Strategy at FIS, a publicly traded (NYSE) provider of technology solutions and services.
