Answer: Botticelli Foods USA was founded in 2002 by Joseph Asaro and Sons. Their humble beginning links back four generations to the island of Sicily where their ancestors worked as farmers and local grocers. Reconnecting to their family roots, the Asaro family began importing olive oil made from olives of their region in Sicily. The demand in America for Botticelli olive oil quickly outpaced their capacity and their main operation moved to a state-of-the-art facility in PugliaItaly's olive oil production capital. This facility as well as their other mediterranean, Italian and Sicilian facilities enabled Botticelli to meet its growing customer base and demands. Premium pasta sauces, rich vinegars, semolina pasta, and specialty items were then added to their portfolio of high-quality products, allowing them to grow into a well-respected name in the Italian food industry. Botticelli Foods is still family owned and operated by CEO Salvatore Asaro, the son of founder Joseph Asaro.
