Answer: Who is Future Urban Leaders? Future Urban Leaders (FUL) provides afterschool and summer enrichment programming to over 130 Black students in grades K4-12th. FUL programs break down barriers that typically disrupt equal access to activities and resources for historically marginalized communities of color. Through exploration, community engagement, academic support, and leadership building activities, students learn comprehensive tools to create pathways to a successful future. Collaboration is key to the success of FUL's capacity to open doors of opportunity and strengthen our student's trust and drive to be leaders in their own communities and across settings that they're not typically engaged in. FUL's programming is structured around five core areas that all work together to provide a solid foundation for our scholars to learn, grown, and prosper. Core Programming Areas: -Health & Wellness -Arts & Humanities -Academic Enrichment -Service & Leadership -College & Career Readiness History: FUL was founded through the passion and philanthropic efforts of two childhood friends: one a local business executive and the other a public-school teacher, as an athletic enrichment and mentorship program in 2014. The first cohort of 13 students met twice per week for academic support and athletic enrichment. As the program grew, mentorship and academic support evolved into the core of all programming, along with community and health and wellness. Today the program meets twice per week, with other opportunities periodically mixed in on unscheduled programming days. After school programming takes place at Milwaukee College Prep-Lloyd Street Campus for students in grades K4-8th grade. High school programming takes place at Greater Life Community Center, strengthening our connection to their greater Milwaukee community.
