Answer: Hippie and a Veteran Foundation provides PTSD education, advocacy and access to alternative mental health and wellness treatments for veterans and marginalized communities in the Pacific Northwest and globally. Mental Health has been a taboo topic we hid or refused to address, in both the Veteran and Civilian communities. This has lead to miss-information and patients trusting in long term toxic or ineffective treatments. We believe we were meant to share our experiences and empower those having similar experiences to take back control of their health in what resonates with them. Healing is a journey taken by a single individual, sometimes a guide is necessary on the more challenging paths. We hope to guide people off the beaten path and take control of their mental health. When symptomatic it can be difficult to coordinate your care so we screen clinics, organizations or providers for anyone unable to navigate access until they are able to take control themselves. Through generous donations, we fund or help Veterans navigate alternative therapies not offered through the VA. Partnering with providers and non-profits to cut directly through the financial burden many patients see when looking for care outside the box.
